The Holy Monastery of Kakoperatou is located west of Kerki, at an altitude of 600 meters, after the village Kosmadaioi. This small monastery is built on a deserted canyon full of pines and shrubs, which leads to the beach of Grand Seitani, one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. A cave is located in a distance of about 500 meters, where the monks have built a church. In order to approach it you have to pass a rough, narrow path, giving the monastery the name “kakoperato” (“hardly accessible” in Greek).
