The Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi is located northeast of the city of Samos, at an altitude of 300 meters. It offers a fascinating view of the Cape of Mycale, Ephesus and the coast of Asia Minor. It was established in 1756 by monk Dorotheos. The small chapel of Zoodochos Pigi was formerly located in this piney area and the Catholic was built in 1782. The doors of the temple are consisted of small wooden parts, representing the 365 days of the year. The church of the monastery has a magnificent carved chancel screen.
