The fossils hosted in the museum belong to animals that once used to live on the island, particularly in the village of Mytilinioi, 8-10 million years ago. In the zoological section you can admire the island's fauna as well as animals living in the wider Aegean region. Finally, in the botanical section of the museum you have the opportunity to observe the flora of the island. In the Paleontological Museum you will also meet a feline that came in the island swimming from the coast of Asia Minor a few decades ago and became famous by a book of the Greek author Zorz Sari.
Opening hours: from April until the end of October, Monday – Saturday: 09:00 - 14:00 and Sunday 10:00 - 14:00
