Two of the most beautiful beaches of the island are located close to Potami beach in Karlovasi, in the middle of a wildly beautiful natural landscape. It has been established as a biological park, as it hosts monachus-monachus seals, which are endangered species. You can have access to the beach either by boat, from the port of Karlovasi, or on feet, from Potami beach. It is a very pleasant and quite relaxing hiking trail. After walking 3.5 kilometers in a lush landscape you first reach Mikro Seitani, a beach with pebbles and clean deep waters. You will also see Megalo Seitani beach after a while. The beach is completely unorganized, so you should get equipped with water and food before you start your exploration. You could make a beautiful one day excursion and spend the day on the beach, starting with the morning boat and returning at night, again by boat. Of course, don’t forget to get equipped with food, water, tents or umbrellas to protect you from the sun. Waves are big when northern winds are blowing, so be careful!
