It is the highest mountain of Samos, with a maximum height of 1,433 meters. It is the third highest mountain of the Aegean Islands, after Psiloritis of Crete and Saos of Samothrace. It is a mountain with steep slopes and ravines. Its highest peak is Vigla, which you can reach going up the trail to the monastery of the Evaggelistria, at an altitude of 700m. Continuing the ascent, Vigla is located at an altitude of 1,433m. Kerkis has many small and large caves. There are also the famous caves of Pythagoras, Kakoperatos, the cave Siderenia Porta (Iron Door) and many more.
