The settlement of Doliana, which hosts this church with the 13 domes, is located 82km away from Trikala and 58km away from Kalabaka. It is built at an altitude of 1150m and it has been characterized as “the Parthenon of the mountain”, because of its glory and its unique style. It is dated back to 1770 when there were three churches, of Agios Nikolaos, of Agia Zoni and of Timiou Stavrou (Holy Cross), which is the only one that still exists. It is an exquisite sample of post-byzantine architecture that is worth visiting and be admired. The monastery currently belongs to the Monastry of Agios Stefanos in Kalabaka.
