Pineios River, also known as Salavrias, springs from Pindos Mountains and flows into the Thermaic Gulf while it crosses the Thessalian Plain and the green Valley of Tempe. The river is also suitable for activities such as rafting and canoe kayak. In this area there are active groups that organize white-water rafting. There are, of course, plenty of bridges such as Sarakina Bridge near the homonymous village of Trikala.
