On the way from Tripolis to Argolida through Achladokampos, there is a hill where the remains of a fortress denote the story of Mouchli. It was founded at the beginning of the 13th century as a base for regaining Arcadia from the Franks. During the middle Ages, when it was at its high point, it could be compared with Mystras and Monemvasia. A triple wall was surrounding the town and the churches among which the church of Panagia Mouchliotissa stood out.
