The ancient city is located in an overgrown landscape and was founded by the Roman Emperor Trajan in the 2^nd century AC.  It has not been excavated while defensive walls exist at its perimeter, built during the time of Justinian.  The central building is that of Hana (14^th century), which was used as a guesthouse and had a central heating system that functioned by exploiting the hot waters that gush out of the springs till today. To the north, you will observe a church, dedicated to Agia Glykeria, who became a martyr in 161 AC.  The city’s cemetery is found outside the walls.
