The rock engravings on Hilia Hill, 11km to the west of Roussa, indicate the existence of life in the area since the prehistoric times.  The engraved figures on the rocks, which depict men, women, birds as well as reptiles, are dated between 1100 and 900 BC and attribute a mysterious atmosphere to the place.
