A few kilometers before Agios Nikolaos is located the town of Neapoli, a town with exceptionally well-laid streets, which was the capital of the district until 1904. In this town, you will find beautiful buildings from its glorious past, in which the local museums and the hospital are hosted nowadays. Other places to visit are the old aqueduct and the tower built by a Turkish janissary during the Venetian occupation. You can go for a walk to the picturesque Pascha forest, a bit south of Neapoli, where you will see the old windmills and the tower of the Venetian feudal lord Pasqualigo.
