Milatos Cave is located near the homonym village and can be accessed on foot after a 15 minutes route. It has eight entrances and many small chambers in different levels as well as many stalagmites and stalactites. This is a historical cave due to a dark page of the Cretan Revolution that was written here. This is the place where the locals from the surrounding villages sought shelter, but they were eventually slaughtered by Turks. In the first section of the cave, a small chapel was built in 1937 dedicated to Agios Thomas, which exists up today, and in which, every year, the anniversary of the sacrifice is celebrated on Kiriaki tou Thoma (the Sunday after Easter).
