In the plateau of Thripti, near Kavousi lies what's left from the pine woods that formerly used to cover the area. The vegetation, which supplements the pine wood in the plateau, consists mostly of fruit trees and vineyards. The well-known and imposing gorge of Ha is also located here. There are two routes, which you can follow, either from Kavousi village or from Orino village to Makrigialos in Sitia.
