This well-known gorge, 5km in length, is located between Orino village and the coastal village, Koutsouras. Spring is the best season for a visit. The glugging of the waterfalls echoes in the gorge and countless colorful wild flowers adorn the scenery. Crossing it could be very dangerous in the winter due to the running waters. It is also called Kokkinon Petaloudon (Red Butterflies) Gorge, named after the butterflies that still live there, even though there has been a significant decrease in their population and the pine trees of the area because of the extensive fires that took place the last years. Whether you choose to go uphill or downhill the gorge, its crossing is very easy and the plates will lead you to the exit after a three hours and a half hiking. Along the route, besides the natural places of interest, you will find the church of Afentis Christos and the old chapel of Agios Dimitrios.
