Dikti Range is the largest range in eastern Crete and is located on the borders of the municipalities of Heraklion and Lasithi. Spathi is its highest peak and then follow the peaks of Afentis Christos and Lazaros. The largest plateau in Crete, the Lasithi plateau, and other smaller plateaus are encompassed among the peaks of Dikti Range. The well-known Dikteon Andron is located here, while several gorges are formed on the slopes. In Dikti Range, you will find the shelter of the Alpine Club, from where you can start climbing up to the peak Karfi via the path E4. The variety of the flora and fauna of the range is considerably abundant, this is where the famous herb dictamnus or erontas grows, which took its name after the Dikti Range.
