In Sougia, E4 branches into a mountain and a coastal path, which leads in Agia Roumeli. The route Sougia-Agia Roumeli is particularly demanding and, although the trail is marked, you have to pay attention in some places in order not to miss it. Along the route, you will come across the Ancient Pikilassos, Domata beach, several sheep-pens, a pine forest, and the undisturbed beauty of Cretan nature surrounding you. Make sure you have purchased plenty of water, since the path contains several grades. (Total length: 20 km, great difficulty level, 4 hours Sougia-Trypiti, 7-8 hours Trypiti-Agia Roumeli)
