The second museum, in which the archeological findings of Chania and, in particular, of Kissamos are hosted, is housed in the building of the old Venetian-Turkish Headquarters, which was located within the perimeter of the Venetian castle of Ancient Kissamos, which was destroyed by an earthquake in 365 AC. Furthermore, the pertinent reports of its destruction and the considerable informative material are presented by interactive means in the museum. Through the exhibits of the museum, the visitor is guided in the history of the area from the pre-historic times till the late antiquity focusing on the city of Kissamos. Several Hellenistic inscriptions, tessellations, a sundial as well as valuable jewels found in tombs stand out in the wide collection of the museum.
