The slope of Plaka in the village of Sykia Fokida with a negative inclination is one of the most important climbing areas of Europe, which extends and reaches a height of 1,200. Indeed, the peak, was conquered by mountaineers in the decade of the'60s with three attempts of 15-20 hours.
In October 1998 around 75 new routes were opened and equipped with stainless steel plugs, on a rope (10-45m) in rocks around the village, within the framework of the prefectorial program for the eco tourist development of Fokida.

In order to support the activities of the climbers a climbing centre was constructed near the area that includes areas of accommodation, entertainment and information.
The landscape is impressive, alpine and what makes it more interesting are the many caves in the region. In one of them (with stalactites, stalagmites and a natural lake) was built the chapel of Zoodoho Pigi.
