This green village is located on the foothills of mount Ismaros, near ancient Maroneia, and 30 kilometers away from Komotini. Although there are just a few residents, the village with its beautiful, tiny cafes hidden between the platanus trees and the picturesque square with the spring is worth visiting. You will see fully-restored, old manors dating back to the 19th century as well as the school whose construction materials have been possibly taken from the ancient theatre. In the village there is an office organizing excursions and other activities such as bird watching and hiking.
Furthermore, you can visit the caves of Maroneia and Strymi that are located near the village.
