A small village in the foothills of Parnassos that has gone down in history thanks to the actions of Odysseas Androutsos, hero of the revolution of 1821, and his 120 companions. Every year on May 8, a reenactment is staged of the legendary Battle of Gravia Inn, that managed to stop the onslaught of the armies of Omer Vryonis, who had been sent to quell the revolt in the Peloponnese. The historic inn where the militants barricaded themselves has been turned into memorial and folklore museum, and the center of the village is dominated by monuments of the famous rebel. Just 8 km from Gravia is the unique (in Greece) attraction Vagonetto, a mining-themed park offering its guests an unforgettable journey into the earth. Another worthwhile attraction in the area Vargiani is the magnificent Neraidospilia (fairy cave), stunningly decorated with stalactites and stalagmites.
