The village overlooks the lake Mornos, with one of the biggest dams in Europe; the mountains of Giona tower over it. One of the most beautiful towns of the mountainous Fokida district, Lidoriki offers a tranquility to its guests, which unfortunately it did not experience throughout much of its long history. An epicenter of battles during the War of Independence, and the victim of retaliation by the Germans during the Occupation, it was burned to the ground, and its inhabitants were executed en masse. Adorned with splendid Byzantine churches such as that of the Zoodochos Pigi, not to mention the physical beauty of the village, Lidoriki promises to satisfy even the most demanding visitor. The area offers a vast range of tourist options: ancient fortifications and inscriptions, remnants of Byzantine castles, caves, rock climbing and more. Kallio, Malandrino and Egitio are some of the nearby villages you can visit. Also unforgettable is the village of Dafnos, built upon the west side of the Vardousia mountain range, graced with beautiful waterfalls, also known for its ranching and beekeeping.
